En febrero de este año recibimos una invitación para ir a realizar la primera Academia de Muñecoterapia a Chuncheon en Corea del Sur. Esta invitaicón venía directamente desde UNIMA Korea y fue organizando a través del Puppet Festival Chuncheon. Los marionetistas de Corea estaban hace años interesados y tenían mucha curiosidad por conocer los usos de los titeres en su función terapéutica. La Academia se dibidió en dos partes, la primera fue implementada en abril con un programa de estudio de dos semanas (10 sesiones de día completo) donde los estudiantes recibieron una formación inicial de las bases y funciones terapéuticas de los titeres y las formas animadas.

In February of this year we received an invitation to go to the first Puppet Therapy Academy in Chuncheon, South Korea. This invitation came directly from UNIMA Korea and was organized through the Puppet Festival Chuncheon. Puppeteers in Korea had been interested for years and were very curious about the uses of puppets in their therapeutic function. The Academy was divided into two parts, the first one was implemented in April with a two-week study program (10 full-day sessions) where the students received an initial training on the basics and therapeutic functions of puppets and animated forms.
La segunda parte de la Academia se desarrollará en noviembre de este año, tendrá la misma modalidad de estudios, dos semanas (10 sesiones de día completo), con el segundo nivel avanzado donde los participantes profundizarán en los contendios adquiridos y realizaran dos examenes: la exposicón de un diseño de proyecto de intervención de muñecoterapia, examen guiado e insppirado bajo la pregunta:¿Qué lugares debería habitar la muñecoterapia en Corea?y la presentación de una performance con los muñecos que crearon en el nivel inicial.

The second part of the Academy will take place in November of this year, with the same two-week study modality (10 full-day sessions), with the second advanced level where the participants will deepen the contents acquired and will take two exams: the presentation of a project design for a doll therapy intervention, guided and inspired by the question: What places should doll therapy inhabit in Korea? and the presentation of a performance with the dolls they created in the initial level.

Algo que podría haber sido un obstáculo, las barreras idiomáticas, fueron rapidamnete solucionadas con el trabajo relizado en conjunto con una interprete coreana, Sol, que hablaba español. Las clases se dictaron integramente en español e iban siendo traducidas por la interprete. Poco a poco el grupo fue conociendo nuestro ritmo de trabajo, nuestro humor, los estudiantes comenzaron a comprender las propuestas y estéticas que traíamos, y el trabajo silente se apoderó de todas las exploraciones creativas.

Something that could have been an obstacle, language barriers, were quickly solved by working together with a Korean interpreter, Sol, who spoke Spanish. The classes were given entirely in Spanish and were translated by the interpreter. Little by little the group got to know our rhythm of work, our mood, the students began to understand the proposals and aesthetics that we brought, and the silent work took over all the creative explorations.

El último día de la Academia.
Luego de diez días de exploraciones creativas, investigación, estudio y trabajo grupal e individual dimos por finalziado el primer periodo de la Academia con algunas muestras de ejercicio nacidos en estas dos semanas. Las exploraciones presentadas fueron el muñeco de la pandemia, exploracion que buscaba concetarse con los procesos persanales e íntimos vividos en el período pandémico y cómo estas experiencias ingresaron a sus vidas y marcaron sus proceso creativos. Abrimos la ceremonia de certificación con la presentación de nuestro montaje Alma y el Cazador de Mariposas, que fue especialmente adaptado para esa ocación.

The last day of the Academy.
After ten days of creative explorations, research, study and group and individual work, we ended the first period of the Academy with some samples of exercises born in these two weeks. The explorations presented were the doll of the pandemic, an exploration that sought to concentrate on the personal and intimate processes lived in the pandemic period and how these experiences entered their lives and marked their creative processes. We opened the certification ceremony with the presentation of our montage Alma and the Butterfly Hunter, which was specially adapted for this occasion.
